We sponsored a trip to an informatics and chemistry camp Print E-mail

Between the 22nd and 29th of September, 2011 in the town of Pisz in Masuria, the XIV-th High School in Warsaw named after Stanislaw Staszic, organized a Informatics and Chemistry camp for students of middle and high schools - those passionate about informatics and chemistry. This was done thanks to sponsors - among them Sofrecom Polska. 72 students benefited from the offer.

During the time used for studying, the chemistry group had theoretical lectures and lab hours, while the informatics group had contests and lectures. The workshops made the camp an ideal place for both learning and summer relaxation.

We hope that the trip helped the teenagers learn things they are interested in and develop their passions in a unique and interesting way.

Below a few statements by teens who went to the camp:
"I really liked the camp. I learned many interesting things there and I expanded my programming skills. I also met many nice and intelligent people there"
Jan, 14 years old - Alfik math contest winner, Wstega Mobiusa math contest winner

"I really liked the camp. I've learned many things there. I wish  I didn't have to go back home, because I will never have so fun there as I had on the camp. I met new friends. I learned how to canoe, though this was not mine main target. I think the camp was a success. After it I know that the algorithmic field is much bigger than I thought..."
Jakub, 14 years old

"The informatics and chemistry workshop was a camp during which I met many outstanding people, as well as future students at my school. I also learned many new, interesting things in informatics"
Basia, 17 years old - honorable mention in the final of the LXII annual Mathematics Olympics, finalist of the LXI annual Mathematics Olympics, and winner of this year's edition of the international mathematics contest "Mathematical Kangaroo"

"The camp was very nice. I liked it more than other informatics trips. It had both studying and relaxing. Everyone could find something for themselves (the gym, the beach, extra studying). During some of the evenings we had karaoke nights and board game nights, which were fun for everyone. As for the studies I think everyone learned something new. The lectures where divided into groups and everyone could choose what they wanted to learn. I really like trips like this one. I am very happy that I managed to go."
Patryk, 17 years old

"The camp was great - both as far as organization and studies are concerned. The division into groups means that everyone has tasks on his level. Also each task is discussed by someone who managed to find a solution, which really helps those that had a problem with it. The lectures well also enlightening. I am really happy that I could come here :)"
Wiktoria, 14 years old

"Many interesting lectures, everything nicely organized. The standard of the informatics part was very high (I can't tell about the chemistry part as I didn't participate). The problems we needed to solved where very interesting and uncommon. If I could come again, I would without a doubt!"
Tomek, 18 years old - 6th place in the international programmers contest: High School Programming League.
